Transmyocardial revascularization (TMR)
Transmyocardial revascularization uses a laser to create tiny channels in the heart wall to promote better blood flow to the heart muscle. This may be used in areas of the heart that are causing chest pain (angina). TMR can be done alone, but it often is done at the same time as heart bypass surgery.
