Domestic Abuse Group

Men's Domestic Abuse Group

BryanLGH Medical Center provides domestic abuse groups for men who have displayed violent behavior or domestic abuse. Participants in these groups can make profound changes in their lives. Benefits to participants include the opportunity to make behavioral, attitudinal and emotional change, helping men to reduce or resolve conflicts without resorting to violence.

The men's domestic abuse groups are facilitated by masters prepared professionals who work closely with community support systems.

The group is designed to change violent behaviors, not salvage marriages or relationships. The group is not the sole means to ending domestic abuse but is instead a part of our community's response to abuse.

Who Benefits

These domestic abuse groups meetings can be beneficial to men who inflict pain or injury on others. Domestic abuse can refer to physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse. This may be displayed by these behaviors:

  • Name calling

  • Denying contact with friends and loved ones
  • Demanding to know where partner is at all times
