Other Services
The Independence Center offers several other services to educate, support and help people maintain sobriety:
Public Education
The Independence Center maintains a speakers bureau of experienced chemical dependency professionals. They give brief talks (15-90 minutes) to businesses, churches, schools, civic clubs and community groups. Topics include how to help someone with an alcohol/drug problem, signs of chemical dependency, drugs, effects of chemical dependency on the family, recovery and other topics.
Professional Seminars and Workshops
We provide seminars and workshops of varying lengths for substance abuse professionals and the public.
Student Internships
Student internships and practicum experiences at the Independence Center help students gain valuable on-the-job training while facilitating the treatment process.
Volunteer Program
Alumni and community volunteers help those currently in treatment. Their efforts play an important part in the treatment process.
Alumni Association
Our Alumni Association provides continued fellowship and activities with other treatment graduates. Click here for the Happenings alumni newsletter.
